Scholarships Make a Difference

Kelly Reyna (2015-16)

I just wanted to email you and tell you how truly grateful I am to have received an AHMA scholarship. My parents are separated and each have 3 kids, so they can’t really afford college for me, even at a community college. This scholarship allowed me to attend college full time (15 hours a semester) and pay for all of my books and supplies. When I first started college I wasn’t really excited at all, but now that I’ve started, I’ve worked harder than I ever have. I’ve been in college for a year and have already completed 49 hours, got into the Honors college, and was placed on the dean’s list at Lone Star.

This scholarship made so much possible for me and my future and I can’t thank you and everyone on the AHMA committee enough for giving me this amazing opportunity. I’m planning on transferring to Sam Houston next spring to complete my accounting degree and can’t wait to begin my future. I can’t wait to begin my essay for this year’s scholarship.

Once again, thank you so very much.
Best Regards,
Kelly Marie Reyna (2015-16)
