AHMA Scholarship Has a Profound Impact
On Medical Student

Hello Michael and generous donors of the AHMA East Texas scholarship foundation,

By way of background, my family and I previously lived in the Fawn Ridge apartments from 2016-2018 during my undergraduate studies at Sam Houston State University. During that time, I was a recipient of an AHMA East Texas scholarship two times for which I am so grateful. It was a huge blessing to our family! We then moved to Fort Worth to start medical school and spent the first two years there (2018-2020). We had the opportunity to come back to the Houston area for my third and fourth years of medical school, so we moved back into Fawn Ridge apartments in 2020. We are so grateful to have been a recipient of the AHMA East Texas scholarship again this school year which makes the third time. Thank you!

By way of update, the first half of the 2021-2022 school year has been great! I am in my final year of medical school, which is the second clinical year, meaning my time is spent in a hospital or doctor’s office participating in patient care and learning from physicians in a variety of medical specialties. I will be graduating from medical school in May 2022 and starting anesthesiology residency training (my chosen specialty) in July 2022. I am so grateful for my educational journey and to be at the end of my studies and begin my work in the hospital learning the specialty of anesthesiology. Thank you for all of your different contributions to help make the AHMA East Texas scholarship foundation possible. It truly is a blessing to all those who have received a scholarship wherever their educational journey takes them. Again, from myself and my family, thank you!

Sincerely,

Ryan Reichert
