Benefits of AHMA Membership

AHMA East Texas members manage over 25,000 units of quality affordable housing in the East Texas area including Houston, Galveston, Beaumont/Port Arthur, Lufkin/Nagcodoches, Bryan/College Station, and surrounding areas. Our members include owners, property management executives, directors of non-profit housing organizations, multi-site supervisors, site management personnel, product/service vendors, and regulatory agency representatives.

Professional Training and Development Programs for housing managers, owners, supervisors and maintenance personnel.
Certification Programs for Affordable Property Management, Occupancy, Tax Credit Management, and Maintenance.
Communities of Quality national property recognition program - providing
Education Scholarships for affordable housing residents and employees. $90,000 in scholarships awarded since 2003.
Networking opportunities through regular luncheon meetings.
Close cooperation and communication with regulatory agencies including HUD, SHCC, IRS and local and state housing agencies.

Corporate (Managing Agent) Membership

Corporate Membership is for Owners, Managing Agents, Management Company Executives, Property Supervisors, and other employees who do not work directly on-site at properties. All central office employees may attend courses and events at member rates. Includes one NAHMA subscriber membership with a subscription to NAHMA News and access to the membership area of the NAHMA website.

Property Membership

Property Membership is for individual multi-unit affordable housing properties located in the AHMA East Texas membership area. Affordable housing is defined as properties receiving governmental rent assistance in the form of unit subsidies, tax credits, or housing vouchers. All on-site employees may attend AHMA courses and events at the member rates.

Includes one NAHMA Subscriber Membership. If the property is affiliated with an AHMA Corporate Member, NAHMA Subscriber Dues are waived.

Associate Membership is for companies or individuals engaged in the sale of products or services to AHMA East Texas Members. Sponsorship opportunities are also available to Associate Members. See the application form for more information.
